Research project: “optimization of the Happy fingers device” based on the patent held by Tiziano Poli

Funded by: Maestro Tiziano Poli

The objective of the research is the improvement of the Happy Fingers device, which allows the stress and training of the joints and muscles of the fingers and hand, while respecting the natural physiology and muscle dissociation. The device consists of an extensible structure, which includes a support base for the arm, and a support structure for the mechanism at the top of which is a pulley. On the support base surface is placed the part that allows support for the metacarpal. Three different design solutions have been created with identical functional principles and different actuation mechanisms: a weight structure, a second with harmonic steel sheet and a third with easily interchangeable springs.

The research resulted in 1 Patent and 3 Community Models, a scientific publication and a thesis (see details in the corresponding section). The device is currently marketed for musicians who want to refine the mobility of their fingers.
